About this role

Frontier Senior Living is seeking an outstanding Sous Chef to join The Landing at Augusta Woods community located in Spring, TX . Demonstrated success as a leader in similar settings is required of the Sous Chef.

We currently have the following Shifts and Schedules available for this position:

- 10am-6:30pm, Full-time with ability to be flexible on shifts/hours

This role supports the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and steps in as the kitchen lead when needed. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assist the Executive Chef in planning, preparing, and serving meals that meet nutritional, dietary, and resident preferences

- Oversee kitchen operations during assigned shifts to ensure efficiency, food quality, and timely service

- Supervise, train, and support kitchen team members

- Ensure proper portion control, presentation, and garnishing of all menu items

- Monitor food usage, assist with inventory, and help reduce waste

- Maintain sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards in compliance with health regulations

- Collaborate with dining room staff to ensure smooth and timely meal service

- Assist with menu planning and special meals, events, and holiday services

- Serve as acting kitchen leader in the absence of the Executive Chef

- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Other Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Minimum 2 years of food service experience (supervisory or lead cook experience preferred)

- Knowledge of food production, nutrition, sanitation, and safety practices

- Active Food Handlers Certificate

- Strong communication and organizational skills

- Compassion for seniors and a commitment to excellent service

- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds

- Must be at least 18 years of age
