As a Vocational Counselor, you’ll connect people with meaningful employment while building stronger, more inclusive communities in Fredericksburg .
What You’ll Do
- Identify individuals’ strengths, interests, and career goals.
- Develop personalized employment plans and provide career guidance.
- Assist with resumes, applications, interviews, job readiness, and onboarding.
- Provide one-on-one and on-the-job coaching.
- Build relationships with local employers and identify employment opportunities.
- Support workplace accommodations, assistive technology, and natural supports.
- Connect individuals with community and employment resources.
- Maintain accurate documentation and track progress.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, organized, resourceful, and motivated to help others succeed.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Comfortable working in a field-based/community setting .
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation with current insurance.
- Ability to complete required background and drug screenings.
Experience in the following is a plus:
- Vocational rehabilitation
- Employment services or job coaching
- Workforce development
- Human or disability services
- Case management
- Working with veterans or individuals with disabilities
