This position is essential to ensuring the financial well-being of the community by managing resident billing, insurance verification, accounts receivable, long-term care insurance claims, and resident trust accounts with accuracy and attention to detail. The ideal candidate is highly organized, knowledgeable in Medicaid pending applications, submitting long term care insurance claims, and skilled at building positive relationships with residents and families.

Department:  The Sarah Community General Admin

Schedule:  Monday-Friday, approximately 8am-4:30pm. There may be a manager on duty rotation (1 out of 8 weekends, 4 hour shifts on Sat and Sun 10am-2pm)

Job Summary:
Maintains complete and systematic records of the financial transactions and a variety of other business office duties for Long Term Care (LTC).

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Verif ies pay o r source and amounts due, pay bills and collect payment from all pay o r sources.
- Maintains and records daily census admissions and discharges, pay o r changes, and room changes . E nsures proper documentation is made in the billing computer system . V erifies insurance and pay o r information on new admissions.
- Follows - up on and collects from all past due accounts per established guidelines and/or processes . D esign s and implement s efficient guidelines/process es . Maintains and records notes in collection log and in billing computer system on all past due balances.
- Prepares daily bank deposits and daily posting of deposits into the billing computer system.
- Participates in monthly Accounts Receivable ( A/R ) meetings and weekly Medicare meetings with community leaders and corporate partners , as applicable. Responsible for accounts receivable outcomes by maintaining D ays S ales O utstanding ( DSO ) that is within the goals of the corporate office.
- Assists with month-end close procedures and notif ies corporate office of completion.
- Completes and submits bad debt write-off forms, adjustments, and paperwork to corporate office for approval , as necessary.
- Maintains day - to - day operations of resident trust account, including monthly reconciliatio n , resident accounts with balances, and weekly reconciliation of resident trust cash box.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

- Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience and education

EXPERIENCE

- Two years' experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Rare climbing.
