What You'll Do

- Design and develop scalable, secure, and reliable blockchain infrastructure that handles real users and real money

- Own the architecture and full lifecycle of blockchain transactions, from initiation and signing to execution, confirmation, reconciliation, and recovery

- Build and evolve wallet, custody, key management, and transaction infrastructure across on-chain and off-chain systems

- Design integrations across different blockchain networks, architectures, consensus models, and transaction models

- Develop and integrate smart contracts where applicable, including EVM-compatible ecosystems

- Build production-grade solutions for DeFi use cases such as staking, liquidity pools, DEX integrations, and other on-chain financial workflows

- Take end-to-end ownership of complex blockchain systems, including security, resiliency, observability, incident response, and operational excellence

- Drive architectural decisions and technical direction by balancing security, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and development velocity

- Identify technical risks early and design systems that remain safe and recoverable under failure scenarios

- Collaborate closely with product, business, security, and engineering teams to turn ambiguous requirements into robust technical solutions

- Lead technical discussions, design reviews, and architectural decisions within the team

- Mentor engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, feedback, and knowledge sharing

- Leverage modern engineering tools, including AI-assisted development, while maintaining high standards for code quality, security, and engineering rigor

What You'll Bring

- Strong software engineering experience with a proven track record of designing and operating complex production systems

- Deep hands-on experience building and operating production-grade blockchain infrastructure

- Strong understanding of blockchain architecture across different ecosystems, including consensus mechanisms, transaction models, finality, reorgs, fees, and network-specific behavior

- Experience working with multiple blockchain networks and protocol models rather than a single ecosystem or virtual machine

- Strong understanding of wallet architecture, custody models, key management, transaction signing, and blockchain transaction lifecycles

- Hands-on experience with HSMs and secure key management infrastructure

- Experience with MPC-based custody systems or custody platforms such as Fireblocks is a strong plus

- Strong understanding of cryptographic signing workflows, key security, access controls, and security boundaries in production systems

- Experience developing, deploying, and operating smart contracts; Solidity experience is a strong plus

- Experience with DeFi protocols or use cases such as staking, liquidity pools, DEXs, or similar on-chain financial systems

- Strong understanding of both on-chain and off-chain architectures and the trade-offs between them

- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, idempotency, failure recovery, and data consistency

- Experience operating critical production systems with monitoring, alerting, observability, incident response, and post-incident improvement practices

- Ability to make sound architectural decisions and reason clearly about trade-offs across security, scalability, reliability, operational complexity, and delivery speed

- Ability to independently navigate high-ambiguity problems and drive them from initial concept through production

- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and responsibility for production outcomes

- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical decisions across teams

- Willingness to mentor other engineers and raise the technical bar of the team

- Ability to use AI-assisted development tools effectively while maintaining sound engineering judgment and security standards
