About this role

Accountabilities

- Lead and participate in Member Reviews covering underwriting, documentation, compliance, reporting, and financial activities to provide reasonable assurance over operational effectiveness.

- Review insurance rates and forms across selected policies to identify deviations from state-approved filings and applicable requirements.

- Conduct underwriting file reviews to evaluate adherence to underwriting guidelines, internal procedures, regulatory obligations, and industry best practices.

- Analyze review findings, identify areas of risk, and communicate clear, actionable recommendations designed to mitigate potential issues.

- Monitor outstanding recommendations and follow up with responsible stakeholders to support timely remediation and resolution.

- Build positive, productive relationships with members and senior management while delivering constructive, value-added assurance insights.

- Analyze operational data to identify errors, trends, and potential risks and develop meaningful samples based on appropriate selection criteria.

- Review monthly premium trust transactional reports and investigate relevant exceptions or discrepancies.

- Maintain current knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry developments affecting insurance underwriting and compliance.

- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of review policies, procedures, and methodologies.

- Use appropriate technology and AI-enabled tools to improve workflow efficiency, analysis, and problem-solving where relevant.

- Travel periodically as required to support review activities and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

- At least 5 years of relevant audit or assurance experience within a property and casualty insurance organization, preferably in an MGA, MGU, or program administrator environment.

- Commercial insurance underwriting and/or rating experience is preferred.

- Strong understanding of insurance operations, including underwriting, claims, policy administration, compliance, and related processes.

- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret data, identify exceptions, assess risk, and develop appropriate recommendations.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to both operational teams and senior stakeholders.

- Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple reviews, deadlines, and follow-up activities.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other standard business productivity tools.

- Familiarity with AI tools and practical experience applying AI to workflow automation, analysis, or AI-assisted problem solving.

- Ability to build collaborative, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently.

- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
