Child Welfare Specialist III H23C
Annual Salary: $43,968.62 + Full State Employee Benefits
Shift differential pay is paid after standard hours.
Work hours: Monday, 8 am to 5 pm; Tuesday-Friday, 12 pm- 8 pm
Applicants who possess a Master's Degree in Social Work will be entitled to a salary incentive of an additional 5%.
On-call positions will receive an additional bonus ranging from $100 to $150 every two weeks, depending on responsibilities.
Travel is Extensive . Must possess a valid driver's license and must maintain required car insurance.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Master's degree;
- OR a Bachelor's Degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist;
- OR two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
Job Responsibilities
- This position is with the Specialized Placements and Partnerships team in Child Welfare and is responsible for monitoring and responding to requests made to the statewide shelter hotline.
- Reviews all shelter requests to ensure the necessary information is provided.
- Communicates with shelters across the state to locate a shelter bed for youth and communicates the results back to the CW team.
- Must be able to handle multiple requests at once, remain organized, and communicate with team members, CW staff, and shelters effectively.
- The shelter hotline accepts referrals for shelter placement each day starting at 1:00 pm.
