What you will do

- Support the administration of project cost records, change order logs, variation records and claims registers, with guidance from the commercial team as you learn.

- Monitor project costs and assist with accurate, timely commercial reporting.

- Assist with procuring and letting subcontractor packages, learning how suppliers and subcontractors are selected, priced and managed on live projects.

- Support the review and validation of subcontractor and supplier interim payment applications.

- Help identify, document and track variations, claims, risks and commercial opportunities.

- Develop strong working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams.

- Take direction, ask questions and contribute positively to the commercial delivery of successful projects.

The candidate

We are looking for a motivated graduate who is eager to learn, ask questions, contribute to a team and build a career in quantity surveying with Flynn.

- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.

- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with project and commercial teams.

- Good written skills and attention to detail.

- A willingness to learn, ask questions and act on feedback.

- An interest in commercial management, construction project delivery and how projects are planned, costed and controlled.

- Basic knowledge of the construction process and site operations.

- A strong work ethic, sense of ownership and ability to work as part of a team.

- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Buildsoft or similar systems is helpful but not essential.
