Overview
Firefighter/EMT – Stennis Space Center
Chenega is seeking Firefighter/EMTs to join our emergency response team at Stennis Space Center, MS. In this hands-on role, you'll help protect lives, property, and mission-critical operations through fire suppression, rescue services, and emergency medical response. Responsibilities
- Respond to fire, medical, rescue, hazardous materials, and other emergency incidents, providing life-saving services and effective emergency response.
- Operate firefighting, rescue, and EMS equipment while supporting fire suppression, vehicle extrication, technical rescue, and Basic Life Support (BLS) transport operations.
- Maintain operational readiness through equipment inspections, apparatus maintenance, training, drills, and compliance with department procedures and safety standards.
- Support fire prevention, public safety, and documentation activities, including inspections, incident reporting, and continuous professional development.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and at least 21 years of age.
- Current NREMT certification and Mississippi EMT certification (or ability to obtain Mississippi licensure).
- Firefighter II certification (IFSAC, Pro Board, Mississippi State Minimum Standards, or equivalent) and EVOC certification.
- HazMat Operations, Technical Rescue Awareness, and NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications; ability to pass required background and drug screenings.
- Successfully pass background and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fire Inspector I certification (or ability to obtain after hire).
- Ability to obtain Technical Rescue Technician and/or HazMat Technician certifications.
