Embedded Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and debug embedded software using C and Python
- Develop software for embedded Linux, RTOS, and bare-metal environments
- Integrate software with custom electronic hardware and microcontroller-based systems
- Perform hardware/software integration, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Create and execute test plans, automated test scripts, and validation procedures
- Develop device drivers and communication interfaces including UART, SPI, I2C, and Ethernet
- Participate in software architecture reviews, design reviews, and code reviews
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automated testing environments
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, and test engineers to deliver robust solutions
- Support customer demonstrations, technical presentations, and proposal activities

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of embedded software development experience
- Strong C programming experience
- Working knowledge of Python
- Experience with embedded Linux, RTOS, or bare-metal systems
- Experience integrating software with hardware platforms
- Experience debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and laboratory test equipment
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain or maintain a security clearance

- Experience with Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, or other CI/CD tools
- Experience with Yocto or Buildroot
- Knowledge of requirements management tools such as DOORS or Jama
- Experience with MIL-STD qualification testing
- Experience with device driver development
- Familiarity with aerospace or defense programs
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Melbourne, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $80.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
