Rental Agent

Summary
The Rental is responsible for assisting with aspects of the Rental Department. This individual handles full-cycle rental arrangements, and schedules appointments to ensure a seamless customer experience. This role requires exceptional "people skills," a positive attitude, and a genuine desire to provide high-level service. Also will include detailing cars down at the rental location.

Typical Hours and Days

- Hours may vary based on business needs, potentially ranging between 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM on weekdays and Saturdays 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM as directed by management.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Handle all rental arrangements, ensure agreements are completed correctly, and coordinate the delivery of pre-arranged rentals

- Responsible for the opening and closing of the Rental Department based on .

- Check in returns, inspect for damage, monitor mileage/condition, and coordinate necessary repairs or detailing.

- Collect all monies due from customers and insurance companies; maintain all rental records.

- Contact customers who have failed to return vehicles at the agreed-upon time.

- Handle incoming phone and internet leads; answer customer questions regarding vehicle needs and dealership products.

- Maintain strong business relationships with body shops and frequent rental promoters.

- Maintain a thorough understanding of dealership inventory, automotive terminology, and technological changes.

- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws governing retail auto sales and company safety policies.

- Fills vehicle with fuel, if needed.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, & Skills

- Must be 18 or older to meet insurance requirements.

- Valid in-state drivers license with a clean driving record (MVR).

- Professional appearance with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Spanish fluency is a plus).

- Proficient computer skills and the ability to handle mathematical concepts (pricing, rates, ratios, and percentages).

- Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to solve customer problems.

- Must pass pre-employment background checks and drug testing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is Regularly exposed to moving vehicles, and other moving mechanical parts, may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may occasionally be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration if entering the service department; and frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and explosives. The noise level in the work environment may vary from low to moderate in the show room, to loud when in the service department.
