About this role

Fox Subacute is seeking a Certified Activity Director to lead and develop meaningful, engaging, and person-centered recreational programs for our residents. The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, organized, and passionate about improving the quality of life of our residents.

The Activity Director will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive activities program designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain a diverse monthly activities calendar.

- Plan and coordinate individual and group activities based on residents interests, abilities, and care needs.

- Organize entertainment, games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, outings, holiday celebrations, and special events.

- Encourage resident participation while respecting individual preferences and independence.

- Coordinate activities with nursing, dietary, social services, rehabilitation, and other departments.

- Maintain accurate documentation and records.

- Conduct resident assessments and use the information to develop individualized activity plans.

- Develop relationships with community organizations, entertainers, schools, and volunteers.

- Ensure activities are conducted safely and in accordance with facility policies and applicable regulations.

- Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team activities as required.

- Create a warm, welcoming environment that promotes dignity, purpose, and social connection.

Qualifications

- Current Activity Director certification required (such as an applicable state-approved or nationally recognized certification).

- Previous experience working in a nursing home, skilled nursing facility, or senior care setting preferred.

- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

- Creative and enthusiastic approach to resident programming.

- Ability to work effectively with older adults, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners.

- Knowledge of person-centered care and activities programming.

- Must be dependable, professional, and able to work independently.
