Friends of Ruby is dedicated to supporting the well-being of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth aged 16-29 through mental health services, social programs, and housing. We  operate  a  Youth Centre , offering barrier-free counselling, hot meals, and community programming, and a  Transitional Home , providing emergency and long-term housing with life-skills support.

If  you are  passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces for marginalized youth,  this is your chance to make an impact as a n Outreach Volunteer !

About the Role

As a n  Outreach  Volunteer , you will  b e responsible for :

- Educating the Public About Friends of Ruby

- Tell members of the public about Friends of Ruby, including our mission, services, and programs

- Answer questions about Friends of Ruby (to the best of your ability)

- Thank anyone who donates or intends to donate to Friends of Ruby

- Set Up and Take Down

- If you are able, help set up the table of outreach materials, ensuring all materials are neatly displayed and visible

- At the end of the outreach engagement, if you are able, help take down and pack up all outreach materials

What You Bring

Qualifications:

- Comfortable speaking to the public for up to 4 hours.

- Able to commute around the GTA.

- Commitment to social justice, anti-racism, anti-oppression, housing first approach, harm reduction approach, and trauma-informed care.

Assets:

- Identifies as  a member of the   2SLGBTQIA+  community.

- Knowledge and experience in the sector .

- Ability to support setting up and taking down the outreach table.
