About this role

The Office Talent Lead will support the office people experience by strengthening the local employer brand, fostering a positive office/market culture, and supporting the implementation of the local leadership strategy.

Provide on-the-ground support to office leadership, talent colleagues and the wider office, working closely with the Market Talent Lead to ensure consistent and aligned HR advice and guidance. In this role, you will collaborate proactively within an international team, contributing to a forward-looking and collaborative culture.

As Office Talent Lead / HR Generalist, you will act as the central point of contact for all HR-related matters related to business professionals located within the office. You will also serve as a trusted advisor and first point of contact for the Office Managing Partner and local leadership team.

Main responsibilities:

- People experience: Drive the employee experience for all Business Professionals, ensuring alignment with the relevant Function strategy and supporting engagement, wellbeing, and retention. Actively contribute to the Fee Earners employee experience in very close collaboration with the HR Business Partners.
- Career development: Oversee career development for Business Professionals, including all associated processes such as annual evaluations, promotions, and performance management, ensuring consistency and fairness
- Compensation management: Lead and coordinate compensation processes for all employees up to and including Local Partners, ensuring alignment with internal frameworks and market practice
- Employee relations: Provide expert advice and guidance on employee relations matters, including interpretation and application of local legislation and requirements, acting as a trusted advisor to both the market and the PG Group. Preparing relevant paperwork, letters, contracts, and reports for all associated matters, and ensure the necessary notifications to support payroll changes
- Operational support: Manage day-to-day HR operational matters and act as the on-the-ground, first point of contact for employees and managers within the office
- Close collaboration with the Baker McKenzie PG and local Talent Team in the Southern Europe region and central point of contact for people-related topics in the Madrid office
- Contributing to mobilities and secondments to and from clients in close alignment with relevant stakeholders including Practice Group talent
- Collaborate with the Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (ID&E) team
- End‑to‑end ownership and implementation of various local HR initiatives
- And in general, advising employees and managers on ongoing HR-related matters

Skills and experience:

- A higher education qualification with a focus on Human Resources
- Strong generalist Human Resources experience, including experience in talent management, employee relations, compensation, and benefits
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities, take ownership of responsibilities, and provide a high level of service
- Excellent written and spoken Spanish and English communication skills
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience using SAP SuccessFactors is desirable
