Based out of Sao Paulo, Brazil, the Regional Director, South LAC is a senior commercial and operational leader responsible for driving the growth, performance, and long-term development of Burger King across multiple markets in Latin America. Serving as a key strategic partner to master franchisees, this role owns the development and execution of market-level business strategies designed to accelerate restaurant growth, strengthen franchisee performance, and build sustainable brand presence across the territory.

The Regional Director operates with significant autonomy and serves as a critical link between RBI leadership and master franchisee partners. The role requires a strong understanding of franchise economics, restaurant operations, development, and market strategy, with accountability for identifying opportunities, addressing performance gaps, and mobilizing cross-functional resources to deliver business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Own Regional Business Strategy & Performance

- Own the overall business strategy and performance agenda for   Burger King   across assigned markets , translating global and regional priorities into actionable market-level plans.

- Establish growth and performance   objectives   in partnership with master franchisees and hold partners accountable for delivering against agreed business plans and commitments.

- Monitor key business indicators, including sales performance, restaurant profitability, development pipeline, operational performance, and other market health metrics.

- Lead regular business reviews with master franchisees and senior stakeholders to assess performance,   identify   risks, and   establish   corrective actions.

- Identify   opportunities to accelerate growth, improve franchisee economics, and strengthen the long-term competitive position of the brand.

- Provide senior leadership with clear perspectives on market performance, opportunities, risks, and recommended actions.

Lead Master Franchisee Relationships

- Serve as a senior relationship owner for master franchisees across the assigned territory, building strong partnerships while   maintaining   clear accountability for brand and business commitments.

- Influence franchisee leadership teams to align investment priorities, operating plans, and organizational capabilities with RBI's strategic   objectives .

- Challenge and support master franchisees in addressing business performance gaps and executing against agreed growth plans.

- Navigate complex franchisee issues and commercial discussions, balancing the long-term health of the franchise system with RBI's strategic and financial   objectives .

- Develop a deep understanding of each franchisee's organization, financial health, capabilities, priorities, and succession considerations to proactively   identify   opportunities and risks.

- Partner with internal leadership to address significant franchisee performance, contractual, organizational, or relationship matters.

Drive   Restaurant & Market Growth

- Own   the regional growth agenda, partnering with master franchisees to   establish   and execute ambitious restaurant development plans.

- Evaluate market potential, whitespace opportunities, restaurant penetration, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities for sustainable expansion.

- Assess franchisee development capabilities and investment capacity to ensure growth commitments are supported by   appropriate resources   and infrastructure.

- Lead strategic planning for new market and country entry, including market prioritization, business case development, franchisee readiness, and cross-functional execution.

- Identify barriers to development and mobilize internal and external stakeholders to accelerate restaurant openings.

- Partner with Development, Finance, Real Estate, Supply Chain, Operations, Marketing, and other functions to ensure successful execution of regional growth priorities.

Strengthen   Operational & Commercial Performance

- Drive improvements in restaurant-level performance by   identifying   systemic operational and commercial opportunities across the territory.

- Partner with franchisee leadership to improve guest experience, sales, restaurant profitability, service, and execution of brand standards.

- Use business and operational data to   identify   root causes of underperformance and   establish   clear improvement plans with franchisee leadership.

- Ensure master franchisees have   the organizational   capabilities, leadership structures, systems, and resources   required   to successfully   operate   and grow the brand.

- Influence franchisee investment in restaurant operations, technology,   people   capabilities, training, equipment, and other strategic priorities where needed.

- Promote consistency in brand standards while appropriately accounting for local market dynamics.

Lead Cross-Functional Execution

- Act as the regional business leader connecting master franchisees with RBI's functional teams and senior leadership.

- Align internal stakeholders around the highest-priority opportunities and challenges affecting the territory.

- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives involving Operations, Development, Finance, Marketing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Technology, Legal, and other functions.

- Remove barriers to execution and ensure clear ownership, timelines, and accountability for critical regional initiatives.

- Represent the needs and opportunities of assigned markets in regional and global business discussions.

Manage Risk & Protect Long-Term Brand Health

- Proactively   identify   business, operational, financial, development, and   franchisee -related risks that could   impact   regional performance or growth.

- Escalate significant risks appropriately and partner with relevant stakeholders to   establish   mitigation plans.

- Monitor franchisee organizational and financial health to   identify   potential constraints to future growth.

- Ensure franchisee strategies and investments support the long-term health and positioning of the brand within each market.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Business , Finance, Economics, Engineering ,   or a related field; advanced degree or MBA is a plus.

- 7–10 years of relevant professional experience , preferably within   consulting,   franchising, restaurant operations, consumer businesses, business development, strategy, general management, or   a related   field.

- Demonstrated experience managing complex business relationships and influencing senior-level stakeholders without direct authority.

- Experience working with franchisees, joint venture partners, distributors, or other independently owned business partners   strongly   preferred.

- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to assess business performance, franchisee economics, investment opportunities, and growth potential.

- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute growth strategies across complex or geographically diverse markets.

- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, franchising, development, or multi-unit consumer businesses preferred.

- Proven ability to   operate   with significant autonomy, prioritize competing business needs, and make sound decisions in complex environments.

- Strong executive communication, negotiation, relationship management, and influencing skills.

- Ability to effectively challenge senior business partners while   maintaining   productive long-term relationships.

- Strong analytical capabilities and   proficiency   in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

- Fluency in English   required .   Spanish and   Portuguese strongly preferred   for roles supporting Latin America and the Caribbean.

- Ability and willingness to travel regularly   throughout assigned markets.
