Area Superintendents play a critical role in driving successful construction execution across multiple projects. In this role, youll oversee field operations, provide technical and practical direction, coordinate resources, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
At RK Industries, youll work closely with Operations, Project Management, General Contractors, subcontractors, and field teams to keep projects moving forward. Youll manage a book of business, develop field talent, coordinate specialty crews, and help solve the challenges that come with complex construction.

What Youll Do
- Lead and coordinate field and shop operations across multiple projects.
- Provide technical direction and practical guidance related to project scope and construction execution.
- Partner with Safety Managers to ensure compliance with corporate and project safety requirements.
- Drive projects toward timely, quality completion while maintaining budget and productivity goals.
- Collaborate with General Contractors to provide trade-specific information and support project scheduling.
- Maintain open communication with Operations and Project Management regarding budgets, productivity, change orders, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead daily and weekly scope-of-work activities and ensure field teams remain aligned with project priorities.
- Monitor subcontractor and major equipment supplier performance, progress, and quality.
- Manage a book of business in partnership with Operations Managers across multiple projects.
- Maintain strong relationships and constant collaboration with Operations teams and General Contractors.
- Ensure required permits, licenses, and jurisdictional inspections are completed and maintained.
- Coordinate specialty crews, including underground and mechanical room piping teams.
- Requisition, maintain, and account for tools, materials, and equipment.
- Select and coordinate field personnel for new projects.
- Partner with Labor Resources on day-to-day workforce coordination.
- Maintain accurate field workforce tracking and employee data.
- Provide training, coaching, mentoring, and leadership to field personnel.
- Execute and maintain CPMI requirements.
- Identify challenges early and work collaboratively to develop practical solutions.
What You Bring
- 15+ years of relevant construction or field operations experience.
- College or university degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
- Expert-level knowledge of construction field operations and project execution.
- Proven experience leading multiple projects, teams, and diverse groups.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, productivity, budgets, quality, and safety.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, coaching, and training skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions and provide clear direction in complex situations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide managers, autonomous individuals, and diverse field teams.
- Demonstrated creativity, foresight, and sound judgment when planning and solving complex project challenges.
- Ability to build strong relationships with General Contractors, Operations, Project Management, subcontractors, and field personnel.
