Job Spec

Mosaic is looking for a North America Agency – UW Operations Lead. This position is responsible for running day-to-day UW Operations for Mosaic’s Cyber (CY) and Political Violence (PV) product lines, including management of offshore underwriting operations.

Responsibilities

- Lead the Underwriting Operations CY and PV product lines, including policy lifecycle support, system implementations, workflows, procedures, reporting, etc

- Provide day to day management of all aspects of agency UW operations for Cyber and Political Violence

- Overall ownership of the delivery of agency UW operations for CY and PV lines of business

- Liasion with North America UW teams to deliver UW operational processing, provide updates on operational performance and address queries/questions

- Utilize technical expertise to learn processing systems and workflows. Resolve complex queries, ensure underwriting operational requirements and rules are provided, followed, and documented in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

- Coordinate with International Agency Operations counterparts to ensure global continuity in governance, process, and communication, as well as managing expectations and deliverables to internal and external partners

- Act as key point of contact for mitigation of any operational issues/concerns raised by stakeholders or customers. This role will also be the key contact person for areas outside of operations (e.g. Finance, Credit Control, etc)

- Responsible for management and performance of offshore operations as relates to service levels/KPIs, quality and timeliness of delivery, issue resolution, corrections, audit and benchmarking

- Act as point of escalation for all UW offshore operational issues for North America Cyber and Political Violence lines for US, Bermuda, Canada

- Undertake review and development of optimal process flow. Identify and implement additional opportunities to best maximize and leverage offshore operations capabilities

- Facilitate regular planning with UW teams to determine future resourcing requirements

- Conduct monthly UW meeting to review:

Prior month-end reporting (review through month end report)

- Current status of submissions, binds, endorsements, issuance

- Trends in queries (focusing on specific queries that need UW assistance)

- Trends in how processing requests  are received (prior to inception, within one month, within two months, etc)

- Perform quality checks on sample transactions processed by offshore teams

- Develop necessary corrective action plans, as needed, related to both business requirements and UW operations performance and delivery quality

- Participate in projects to improve/automate operations, acting as subject matter expert for Cyber and Political Violence product lines.

Skills, Experience and Education

- Seven-plus years processing/supervising underwriting operational activities within a North American insurance agency (e.g. submissions, clearance, binding/booking, etc), particularly with offshore operations, is essential

- Operational experience with cyber and political violence lines of business is essential

- Experience with complex operations for CY and PV insurance lines and products

- Operations experience within a commercial/specialty Insurance agency, acting as Lloyd’s coverholder is preferred

- Ability to conceptualize and execute innovative plans impacting overall efficiency and productivity

- Ability to work collaboratively with a geographically distributed team and quickly understand and adopt to new culturval norms/standards

- Ability to effectively manage offshore operations and drive maximum value out of relationship

- Ability to work with all levels of employees and management

- Self-motivated individual capable of working towards and meeting deadlines

- Comfortable working with ambiguity in young and maturing organization

- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook, SharePoint, etc)

The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. The salary this position is $100,000 - $130,000.
