The USRM Small Commercial WC Claims Manager is responsible for the overall development and performance of multiple operations with a scope of multiple geographic locations. This leader plays a critical role in advancing our small commercial vision, serving small business customers and driving exceptional outcomes for injured workers, policyholders, and the business. You'll lead a team of five people leaders with a growing book of business, and your ability to develop leaders, drive operational discipline, and deliver results will directly shape the future of this organization.

Ideal Experience Includes:

- 7+ years of Workers' Compensation claims expertise

- 3+ years of experience leading leaders preferred

Responsibilities:

- Owns the development and performance of the operation(s); applies functional operating principles to remove barriers to success.

- Drives operational excellence through disciplined execution of claims handling standards, quality expectations, and process improvements.

- Develops talent by coaching, creating growth opportunities, selecting top talent, and holding managers accountable for the development of their people.

- Champions a customer-centric approach that prioritizes the unique needs of small business owners and drives exceptional claims outcomes.

- Builds a highly effective and engaged culture where people do their best work and are accountable to each other.

- Utilizes data, frontline insight, and industry knowledge to evaluate processes, identify trends, and drive informed decisions.

- Monitors team and manager performance, identifies root cause problems, and inspires a culture of continuous improvement.

- Sets and aligns the operation(s) on key success factors and goals, ensuring alignment to broader claims functional goals.

- Functions as the operation(s) liaison with regulatory agencies and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to resolve escalated complaints, problems, and coverage questions.

Qualifications

- Ability to lead and manage a claims operation within a geographic location and effectively communicate operational procedures.

- Advanced knowledge of principles and methods pertaining to the claims field.

- Advanced knowledge of claims management practices, company operations and policies. Advanced insurance related designations/CPCU preferred.

- Bachelor`s degree plus 7-10 years of relevant progressively more responsible work experience required, plus proven claims management experience.
