Job Title: Material Coordinator Job Description The Material Coordinator reviews and manages material requests to ensure timely and cost-effective support for Distribution, Transmission, or Generation operations. This role coordinates closely with Supply Chain Operations, Expediting, and Procurement to maintain material availability for construction and maintenance activities, monitors inventory and purchase orders, and helps optimize inventory management processes. The Material Coordinator also trains others on the Materials Management system, serves as a liaison to the central Materials Management team, and supports special requirements for nuclear plant operations when applicable. Responsibilities
- Review material requests and assist others in evaluating material requirements to support the business needs of Distribution, Transmission, or Generation.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain Operations to stay informed about upcoming and more complex projects for the assigned business unit.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Expediting and Procurement to ensure material availability for construction and maintenance needs.
- Assess material requests to determine the cost effectiveness of fulfilling orders from suppliers versus using inventory located throughout the service territory.
- Monitor open material requests and purchase orders to proactively identify items that require expediting or alternate sourcing.
- Monitor daily inventory reports to identify and resolve exceptions or discrepancies.
- Train colleagues on the Materials Management system for the facilities supported, ensuring proper use and understanding of processes.
- Serve as a liaison between the central Materials Management team and the business unit, providing feedback on the implementation and performance of inventory management strategies.
- Review Materials Management processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness.
- Monitor performance measures and metrics related to Supply Chain and Materials Management, and take corrective action as needed to ensure goals are achieved.
- Purchase emergent material identified during the T-Week scheduling process for nuclear plant operations when required.
- Prepare and report on Procurement Engineering Receipt Inspection and manage material holds for nuclear plant operations when required.
- Actively promote and support Accident Prevention, Safety, and Health programs in all aspects of materials coordination.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, using strong oral and written communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Provide assistance for emergency material requirements related to service restoration or planned and unplanned outages, being available as needed.
- Travel as required to support material coordination activities across facilities and locations.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of two years of experience in Supply Chain or applicable business experience, including satisfactory work experience in a Material Coordinator Associate or similar role, in addition to any years of experience indicated in the education requirements.
- Experience in inventory management, including reviewing inventory reports and managing exceptions.
- Knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures.
- Ability to perform accurate and efficient data entry related to materials, inventory, and purchase orders.
- Understanding of supply chain operations and procurement processes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
- Ability to support emergency material requirements for service restoration and outages, with flexibility to be available when needed.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required for the role.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Procurement, or a related field; or
- Associate's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Procurement, or a related field plus two years of applicable experience; or
- High School Diploma or GED plus four years of applicable experience.
- Experience working with Materials Management systems and training others in their use.
- Ability to analyze measures and metrics and take corrective action to meet Supply Chain and business unit goals.
- Experience collaborating with Expediting and Procurement functions.
- Background in supporting Distribution, Transmission, or Generation operations is beneficial.
- Experience with nuclear plant materials processes, such as emergent material purchasing during T-Week scheduling and Procurement Engineering Receipt Inspection, is a plus.
Work Environment This position follows a standard Monday through Friday schedule, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The work environment is professional and business casual, with frequent interaction with Supply Chain Operations, Expediting, Procurement, and other internal teams. The role may require occasional travel to various facilities and operational sites. The Material Coordinator supports both routine and emergency operations, including planned and unplanned outages, and works with inventory management systems, procurement tools, and reporting technologies to maintain accurate and timely material information.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37.76 - $39.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
