St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS) is seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Residential team . This position provides nursing support to children and adolescents in a residential behavioral health setting and plays an important role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the youth we serve.

The ideal candidate is a reliable and caring nursing professional who is comfortable working with youth, managing medications, responding to health-related concerns, and collaborating with residential staff, medical providers, families, and the treatment team.

What You'll Do

As an LPN on the SAYS Residential team, you will provide nursing services and health support to youth in accordance with their individual needs, medical orders, organizational policies, and applicable regulations.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Administer and document medications in accordance with physician orders and organizational policies.

- Monitor youth for changes in health status, medication effectiveness, and potential side effects or adverse reactions.

- Provide nursing care and respond appropriately to illness, injury, and other health-related concerns.

- Complete health assessments and nursing documentation as required.

- Coordinate with physicians, pharmacies, hospitals, and other healthcare providers regarding youth medical needs.

- Communicate relevant health information to residential staff, supervisors, families, and members of the treatment team while maintaining confidentiality.

- Assist with coordinating and tracking medical appointments, follow-up care, and recommended treatments.

- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and medication documentation.

- Ensure medications are properly stored, secured, accounted for, and administered according to established procedures.

- Provide health education and support to youth and residential staff as appropriate.

- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and follow established emergency and crisis procedures.

- Work collaboratively with residential staff and other members of the treatment team to support each youth's overall well-being.

- Participate in treatment team meetings and other meetings as appropriate to the nursing role.

- Maintain compliance with SAYS policies and procedures, Florida nursing requirements, DCF requirements, and other applicable standards.

- Maintain current licensure and required certifications.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule

Weekend Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Additional shifts may be available based on program needs and employee availability.

Qualifications

- Current Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.

- Previous experience working with children, adolescents, behavioral health, residential care, or similar populations preferred.

- Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain as required.

- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to medical and behavioral situations.

- Commitment to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to youth
