We are looking for a Quality Tech to help us bring our innovative consumer products to market while maintaining the high levels of quality Chaney Instrument is known for. In this role, you will be responsible for processing quality and warranty returns, coordinating with customer service and support teams, replicating reported product defects, product inspections, and investigating the root cause of external and internal non-conforming products.  Beyond the traditional quality technician role, you will participate in the new product development process to spot potential issues and suggest improvements to avoid quality concerns at the end stage of development.

Key Job Activities:

- Process and manage customer returns, coordinating with customer support and service teams, as applicable.

- Participate in the product development process to spot areas of potential issues

- Coordinate with quality team for inspection, problem validation, and repair.

- Correspond with customers regarding return/repair status.

- Coordinate any required product testing with 3 rd party labs (UL, CTL).

- Inspect returned products and determine if product is commercially usable, issue refunds to customers.

- Provide customer support team with product information and general product operating knowledge.

- Validate first piece samples adhere to design requirements and documentation

- Inspect incoming product and coordinate any defects with operations and shipment teams.

- Manage annual calibration processes for testing equipment.

- Coordinate quality assurance processes between retail customers and corporate and factory quality team members.

Qualifications

- Associates degree preferred

- Experience testing products and identifying defects

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel

- Knowledge of ZenDesk preferred

- Familiarity with internet-of-things, connected products, a plus

- Familiarity with radio frequency technologies (RF), a plus

- Familiarity with oscilloscopes and other testing equipment, a plus

- Excellent written, presentation and communication skills

- Self-starter with the ability to move and adapt quickly
