About this role
The International School of Boston is seeking multiple basketball coaches to join our Middle School and Upper School programs for the upcoming winter season. We have openings for both Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions across different teams and age groups.
We're looking for coaches who are excited to help grow our basketball program and create a positive, engaging environment where students can improve both individually and as a team.
What we're looking for
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual or multilingual candidates are a plus
- Previous basketball coaching experience and solid knowledge of the game
- A genuine interest in player development, individually and collectively
- Ability to plan and lead structured, varied, and engaging practices, guided by a clear vision for how the team should play and grow
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work well with players, fellow coaches, and the Athletic Director
- A positive, collaborative approach and comfort working with students of different ages, levels, and experience
- Availability on afternoons, particularly for games
Schedule
- Middle School: practices primarily in the afternoon
- Upper School: practices primarily in the evening, plus a Saturday morning session
- Some games require an early departure from school, usually around 2:00 p.m.
Season: Late November – late March
