About this role
Bring your roller operating experience to asphalt paving projects on highways and job sites. Work consistent hours while helping the crew produce pavement that meets specified compaction and density standards.
What you will do
- Operate rubber-tired and steel-drum rollers behind the advancing paver.
- Follow established rolling sequences to achieve the required compaction and material density.
- Compact mainline pavement, shoulder areas, and tie-in sections.
- Work safely around active traffic, haul trucks, and nearby paving machinery.
What you bring
- At least two years on an asphalt crew operating pneumatic or steel-drum rollers, or comparable field experience.
- Ability to maintain rolling sequences and achieve required compaction and density after the paver passes.
- Confidence working near moving traffic, material-hauling trucks, and operating paving machinery.
- OSHA 10 training is preferred.
- A current driver's license, along with dependable transportation.
Location: Birmingham, AL
Pay: $23 to $32 per hour
Employment: Full-Time W-2
