About this role

At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare, well-being benefits, paid family leave as well as generous paid time off. Total Rewards also include banking perks, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K plan with company match and may include the opportunity to participate in our Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation plan. Wealth Advisor

Salary Range: $106,250 - $141,650+ annually

Position Summary

The Wealth Advisor m anages existing client relationships, working either with the Sr. Wealth Advisor or on their own , providing   advice, financial planning implementation, and account management services to clients .   This role is r esponsible for account retention ,   quarterly client meetings ,   account reviews,   and   referrals to other business lines .   The Wealth Advisor is   responsible for championing the Midland brand, engaging in the community and creating marketing events .   This is an individual contributor role.

Primary Accountabilities

- Functions   as the primary manager of existing client relationships .

- Develops   and implements   financial guidance ,   collaborating   with   the Financial Planner to create and model plans .

- Promptly   addresses   basic and   recurring   client account   concerns .

- Takes ownership   for maintaining and enhancing   client retention   and satisfaction .

- Meets with clients on a regular basis and, in conjunction with the Sr. Advisors, works to develop client service models .

- Conducts   comprehensive   needs assessment   for   current and potential customers   and   provid es   on - going, holistic advice and counsel   tailored to clients’ financial goals .

- Monitors and adjusts investment portfolios to ensure alignment with market conditions and clients’ objectives.

- Acts as financial expert to our clients and employees staying abreast of industry and regulatory updates, the economy and financial markets.

- Proactively reaches out to prospects and clients to market financial planning, trust and investment management services.

- Collaborates with Sr Wealth Advisors and related centers of influence to cultivate business.

- Maintains   regular   contact with existing clients, beneficiaries, and referral sources to identify new or additional sales opportunities .

- Identifies and refers business to other areas within the bank as appropriate .

- Takes responsibility for growth in revenue and Assets Under Management (AUM).

- Collaborates with marketing team to promote Midland’s   Wealth Management services to include community involvement, social media, client engagement events, etc.

- Represents bank in community organizations and activities to enhance Bank’s image.

- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).

- Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Education /Experience :

- Bachelor’s degree in business   or a related field,   or equivalent   combination of   education   and   experience.

- 6-8   years   previous experience in investment management and/or financial advisory services with a demonstrated ability to develop, manage and maintain client relationships.

- Series 7 / 65 / Life Health Insurance   licensed .

- CFP   (Certified Financial Planner)   designation preferred.

- Sales oriented, friendly and persuasive personality.

- Professionalism and courtesy in dealing with customers and   colleagues .

- High degree of accuracy with attention to detail required.

- Possess a fiduciary mentality, always doing what’s best for the client and maintaining confidentiality in all matters.

- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills .

- Strong organization and time management skills .
