About this role

OBJECTIVE

The Subrogation Support Specialist is responsible for providing support services to our subrogation organization and assisting in subrogation work as needed.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

- Monitor client referrals through the claims system of record

- Create and assign files as directed to the Subrogation Specialists within the claims system of record

- Assist with sending mail and scanning incoming and outgoing documents

- Alert practitioners/back up who are out of the office on time sensitive mail

- Manage expense invoices with clients (direct pass through)

SECONDARY JOB DUTIES

- Assist in basic investigations to determine a claim’s subrogation potential

- Assist in gathering damages and send the initial demand letter to the adverse carrier

- Assist with following up on demands sent out by Subrogation Specialists with phone calls to the adverse carrier to expedite the settlement of the claim

- Maintain active diary to ensure all files are aggressively pursued

- Effectively communicate with clients throughout the claim process

- Proper and timely documentation of efforts made and next step actions in support of client results

- Respond to all inquiries from all parties

- Assist in training new hires

- Cultivate strong business relationships with external parties

- Must use established guidelines and techniques such as conflict resolution, timeliness, quality and effectiveness to respond to all inquires

- Assist in obtaining official reports – police, fire, expert report, crash reports

- Assist in determining adverse insurance coverage through Lexis Nexis, DMV check, etc.

- May monitor all installment payments on promissory notes or installment payment plans

- Provide documentation to local counsel as directed by the subrogation specialist

- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and propose ideas

- Foster effective communication and collaboration with clients and co-workers

- Assist in subrogation or SIF project work as required

- Act as backup to other members of the subrogation or SIF departments

- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality with all information entrusted with

WORK HOURS

It is essential that this position adheres to the assigned work schedule. This can be either a full-time position or part-time position: Monday through Friday, typically between the hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm EST/EDT, subject to change with advanced notice. Schedules and hours required vary by region, department, client, and/or team. Schedules will be assigned on an individual basis by the manager/supervisor of the position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates either in an office setting or a remote work environment. This role may routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, headsets, telephones, webcams, photocopiers/printers, and related. The noise level in the office setting is limited to quiet and the work environment noise level will vary based on the individual’s remote work environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school Diploma/GED and 3-5 years’ experience in claims (property, casualty, auto, worker’s comp) related experience.

This position requires fluency in the English language
