About this role

Position Overview:

A Maintenance Technician at Iowa Aluminum is responsible to ensure equipment is maintained and repaired to produce high quality aluminum products that meet or exceed standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintenance

Perform scheduled maintenance in all equipment, fire extinguishers, and eye wash stations.

- Ensure maintenance and repair work is completed correctly in a timely manner.

- Develop maintenance procedures to reduce equipment downtime.

- Safety:

Follow all safety protocols and wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Perform the Iowa Aluminum Lock Out/Tag Out program as required.

- Participate in safety and job training sessions as required.

- Record Keeping:

Document maintenance activities, any issues encountered during the shift and report any deviations or abnormalities.

- Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure repair work is completed correctly in a timely manner.

- Communicate with Iowa Aluminum Team to keep them updated on repairs as needed.

Qualifications:

- Maintenance/Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and welding.

- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities, with a focus on efficient and effective communication.

- Problem Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Organization Skills: Ability to plan and organize maintenance schedules for repairs and projects.

- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift, push, and pull materials weighing up to 100 pounds. Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching.

- Attendance: Consistent and reliable attendance is required.
