Plant Services Supervisor

Overview

The primary duties and responsibilities of Plant Services Supervisor consist of, but not limited to:

- Supervision of 15-20 janitorial hourly employees

- Achieving safety and training goals

- Project management

- Work with and supervising vendors

- Special projects

- Overseeing janitorial services at the Groton, Kings Highway, B793, and New London sites

- Cleaning equipment

- Carpentry services

- Sign shop services

- Painting services

- Hazmat services

- Development and implementation of process improvements

- Utilization of VMI programs

- Performance of preparation and takedown of Christening Ceremonies, special events, road sweeper operations

- If needed, willing to participate in an alternative schedule during snow operations, snow removal and de-icing operations

- Working overtime as required to support organizational tasks

- Ability to interface with all levels of management and union leadership

Qualifications

Required:

- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent

- 5+ years of experience in industrial plant and/or facilities maintenance

- 1+ year of supervisory experience

- Working daily and weekend overtime to support Snow Removal Operations and special projects as needed and requested

Preferred:

- Janitorial experience

- Snow removal experience

- Knowledge of backhoe and tractor operations

- Knowledge of SDS process
