About this role
odd saint is your neighbourhood eatery; a vibrant, welcoming spot at the heart of Queenstown’s daytime dining scene and officially New Zealand’s Best Café for 2026.
And shoulder season? Not really our thing. While Queenstown naturally has its quieter periods, odd saint stays consistently busy thanks to a strong local following and steady visitor trade. That means a lively venue, plenty of opportunity to develop your skills, and more consistent hours throughout the year.
We’re part of Future Hospitality Group (FHG) , a leading local operator with six unique venues across Queenstown. Our vision is simple: to push the boundaries of hospitality, exceed guest expectations, and raise the bar for what is possible.
We’re now looking for a Full-time or Part-time Barista + FOH All-Rounder to join our award-winning odd saint team.
This isn’t a role where you’ll be stuck behind the coffee machine all day. We’re looking for a genuine hospitality all-rounder who loves making great coffee but is just as comfortable jumping onto the floor, taking orders, running food and drinks, or supporting the bar.
If you like variety, enjoy a busy service and are happiest when you’re getting stuck in wherever you’re needed, you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Do
- Coffee preparation & service: Craft consistently excellent espresso-based coffees and beverages to FHG standards.
- FOH service: Welcome guests, take orders, run food and drinks, clear and reset tables, and help create a relaxed, friendly experience.
- Bar & beverage service: Prepare and serve drinks from our beverage offering and support the bar during service.
- Coffee station ownership: Keep the barista station clean, organised, stocked and ready for busy service.
- Guest connection: Get to know our regulars, engage confidently with guests and bring personality to every interaction.
- Order flow & speed: Keep quality and pace high during busy brunch and lunch services.
- POS & cash handling: Process orders and payments accurately and efficiently.
- Team collaboration: Work closely with the FOH, barista and kitchen teams to keep service flowing.
- Venue presentation: Help keep the venue clean, organised and looking sharp throughout the day.
- Hospitality standards: Uphold host responsibility, health & safety and FHG service standards.
Who You Are
We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality and likes having variety in their day.
You’ll ideally have:
- Barista experience and confidence on an espresso machine.
- FOH experience in a busy café, restaurant or hospitality environment.
- A friendly, approachable personality and confidence engaging with guests.
- The ability to move comfortably between coffee, bar and floor service.
- A good sense of urgency while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude. You notice what needs doing and jump in.
- Reliability and flexibility within a busy daytime venue.
- Alignment with our core values: Aspirational, Collaboration, Communication, Consistency and Culture.
You don’t need to be an expert in every area. If you’ve got a strong hospitality foundation, great people skills and solid coffee experience, we can help develop the rest.
Why Join FHG?
At FHG, we don’t just offer jobs, we build careers. You’ll enjoy:
- An award-winning workplace: Join the team behind New Zealand’s Best Café for 2026.
- Consistent trade: odd saint stays busy throughout the year, not just during Queenstown’s peak seasons.
- Staff perks: 50% off at all 6 FHG venues and 25% off at 4 other venues in Queenstown.
- Professional development: Free online training courses to grow your hospitality and leadership skills.
- Wellbeing benefits: Discounted gym memberships, pilates discounts, wellbeing programmes and mental health support.
- Career progression: Structured FOH development pathways with opportunities to step into leadership.
- A workplace committed to being the Employer of Choice in NZ hospitality.
If you’re a confident barista who wants more variety than just making coffees, or an experienced FOH all-rounder with strong coffee skills, we’d love to hear from you.
