About this role

Accountabilities

- Participate in the design, configuration, enhancement, and troubleshooting of core and access broadband networks.

- Support field engineering teams with the deployment and expansion of FTTP infrastructure and associated network equipment.

- Configure, administer, and optimize network monitoring and alerting systems to improve visibility and operational response.

- Analyze network performance and operational data, identifying opportunities to improve reliability, capacity, scalability, and customer experience.

- Escalate critical network conditions appropriately to Network Operations and Outside Plant teams.

- Develop, maintain, and administer detailed Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for network equipment maintenance, upgrades, and operational changes.

- Deploy and support public Wi-Fi network services and troubleshoot advanced networking and wireless connectivity issues.

- Assist with the administration and maintenance of Linux and Windows servers and applications.

- Provide Tier 3 technical support through the Network Operations Center and serve as a technical resource for Tier 2 support teams.

- Support the optimization of NOC performance and contribute to efficient resolution of complex network incidents.

- Collaborate with NOC, OSP, Engineering, and field teams to support network deployments and ongoing operational excellence.

- Participate in a small-team after-hours on-call rotation for network outages and critical technical issues.

- Maintain strong technical documentation, standards, and procedures that reduce operational risk and improve consistency.

Requirements

- Proven experience working in a Network Engineering role, with experience supporting production network environments.

- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Juniper MX and QFX product lines.

- Experience deploying and managing service-provider or carrier-grade networks; JNCIS-SP, JNCIP-SP, or Nokia SRC certification is a plus.

- Experience configuring and supporting Nokia 7750 routers and SR OS environments.

- At least 3 years of telecommunications or networking experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

- Hands-on experience with fiber-optic technologies, including GPON and XGS-PON.

- Strong knowledge of BGP, MPLS, DHCP, VLANs, static and dynamic routing protocols, VPNs, VRRP, and ERPS.

- Experience with production core networks, high-availability environments, redundant routing paths, and network architectures supporting large subscriber or endpoint populations.

- Familiarity with IS-IS or OSPF and service-provider technologies such as LDP, RSVP-TE, or Segment Routing is valuable.

- Experience configuring and troubleshooting a range of network and server hardware.

- Linux administration skills and additional networking certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, or Network+ are advantageous.

- Strong analytical and inductive reasoning skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical problems and identify root causes.

- Ability to exercise independent judgment, discretion, and initiative when handling day-to-day network operations.

- Ability to interpret technical requirements, MOPs, product documentation, and data sheets.

- Strong learning orientation, adaptability, creativity, and willingness to continuously develop technical knowledge.

- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

- Customer-focused mindset and commitment to delivering reliable services and positive experiences.

- Ability to effectively use digital tools to organize information, collaborate with teams, and support technical operations.

- Must reside in the United States and be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; employment visa sponsorship is not currently available.
