About this role

Accountabilities

- Own the complete monthly close process, including the close calendar, journal entries, reconciliations, review, and sign-off across subscription and marketplace revenue.

- Manage revenue recognition under ASC 606 across subscriptions, employer-funded marketplace spending, gifting, and partner revenue-sharing arrangements.

- Maintain deferred revenue and points-liability roll-forwards while ensuring the balance sheet remains accurate, well-supported, and easy to explain.

- Prepare internal and external monthly reporting, including variance and flux analysis and executive-level financial dashboards.

- Support annual audit and tax activities in collaboration with external accounting and tax advisors.

- Manage treasury and cash operations, including cash forecasting, banking relationships, operating balances, and approved ACH and wire payments.

- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer invoicing, billing accuracy, collections, and vendor payment processes in partnership with relevant teams.

- Coordinate payroll activities with People Operations and the organization's PEO.

- Review accounting activities and maintain a consistently high standard of financial accuracy and control.

- Serve as the primary internal finance resource for questions involving contracts, vendors, funding schedules, commission structures, budgets, and other financial matters.

- Identify inefficient processes and proactively implement improvements that increase accuracy, speed, and scalability across financial operations.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

- 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with hands-on responsibility for core financial operations.

- Strong knowledge of GAAP, particularly ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles.

- Demonstrated experience managing monthly close processes and meeting internal and external reporting deadlines.

- Experience working with accounting and finance technology, with familiarity with tools such as QuickBooks, Tabs, Anrok, FloQast, Salesforce, Claude, and Google Sheets.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and operational skills, with the ability to identify issues and drive practical improvements.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to executives, operational teams, sales stakeholders, and auditors.

- Ability to work independently, take ownership, make sound judgments, and operate effectively as a senior finance resource in a fast-moving environment.

- Curiosity about the underlying business model and the ability to connect accounting decisions with broader business operations.

- Experience in a Big Four environment, high-growth startup, management consulting, or investment banking is a plus.

- Active CPA certification or CPA licensure in progress is a plus.

- Experience with SaaS or marketplace businesses, particularly deferred revenue, stored-value or points liabilities, and multi-party revenue models, is a plus.
