About this role

Duties

- Develop and enhance features for the Collectly product in a secure, well-tested, and performant manner.

- Integrate Collectly with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.

- Build and maintain ETL data pipelines.

- Design scalable database schemas and optimize queries for PostgreSQL.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with Founders, Frontend, UX, and other core team members to deliver high-quality features in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

- Engage with customers to gather feedback, understand workflows, and ensure product improvements align with real-world needs.

- Conduct technical research on emerging tools, frameworks, and best practices to improve Collectly’s platform and guide architectural decisions.

- Solve complex technical problems while maintaining high standards for code quality, maintainability, and scalability.

- Participate in code reviews to uphold internal standards and mentor peers.

- Identify and address technical debt, proposing sustainable solutions to improve team efficiency.

- Represent Collectly and its values in customer interactions, external communications, and technical discussions around projects.

- Independently ship small and mid-sized features, while collaborating with the team on larger initiatives.

- This position leads integration efforts for Pre-visit Intake Automation, AI Eligibility and Benefits, and AI Cost Estimates products.

Requirements

- Associate’s degree in Software Engineering, or similar field, and 6 years of experience as a Web Developer or Python Developer.

- Knowledge of:
- PostgreSQL internals, autovacuum, and transaction isolation levels;
- Python internals, including details of data type implementation regarding memory management and performance optimization.

- Experience in:
- optimizing database queries using advanced PostgreSQL features;
- using CTEs, Window Functions, and complex data types in PostgreSQL;
- building containerized applications with Docker, writing multi-stage Dockerfiles, building cross-platform Docker images, and orchestrating multi-container environments;
- deploying scalable services using Kubernetes and AWS, managing EKS clusters, defining resources, configuring traffic routing, and implementing autoscaling;
- architecting CI/CD pipelines on GitLab;
- building complex data schemas and queries using SQLAlchemy while implementing polymorphic relationships and preventing N+1 problems;
- building RESTful web services using FastAPI and Flask, utilizing validation, async endpoints, and middleware;
- building dynamic JavaScript web applications using modern frameworks and integrating them with RESTful APIs;

- building and deploying web applications using C# and .NET Framework;
- complex ETL workflows using Celery Canvas primitives, while managing intermediate state and monitoring queue health; and
- Python asynchronous programming (asyncio, coroutines, and event loops).
