Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Job Description
This role focuses on providing hands-on production support, managing technical documentation, and maintaining accurate system data to ensure efficient manufacturing operations. The manufacturing engineer updates systems and technical records, works closely with cross-functional teams on projects, and supports the creation and maintenance of routings and engineering documentation within the ERP system. This position offers a variety of work involving technical paperwork, parts projects, and collaboration with engineering and production teams.
Responsibilities
- Update systems and records to ensure accurate and current manufacturing and engineering data.
- Perform clerical and documentation tasks related to engineering and production activities.
- Provide day-to-day production support to help resolve issues and maintain smooth manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with managers and other staff members on engineering and production projects.
- Print and organize diagrams and technical documents for use on the production floor and in engineering.
- Work within the ERP system to create and maintain routings that support efficient manufacturing processes.
- Manage and process a variety of technical paperwork related to parts, processes, and engineering changes.
- Support parts-related projects, including documentation, routing updates, and coordination with production teams.
- Update and maintain the CAD library to ensure drawings and models reflect current designs and changes.
- Apply ECO (Engineering Change Order), BOM (Bill of Materials), and routing protocols to maintain accurate product structures and process definitions.
- Read and interpret technical drawings to support manufacturing process improvements and documentation accuracy.
- Use tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD to support mechanical and manufacturing process documentation.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of practical experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or closely related technical role.
- Ability to work effectively with different staff members across departments in a collaborative environment.
- Technical background with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams.
- Experience with ECO (Engineering Change Order) processes and protocols.
- Experience working with BOM (Bill of Materials) and routing protocols in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using an ERP system to create and maintain routings and related data.
- Ability to update and maintain a CAD library accurately and systematically.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks for mechanical and manufacturing-related design and documentation.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD for technical drawing and documentation tasks.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and how they translate into routings and technical documentation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Yaphank, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
