OVERVIEW:

The Shift Lead Security is responsible for overseeing casino security operations during an assigned shift while actively performing frontline security duties. This dual-role position combines the leadership responsibilities of a Security Supervisor with the operational responsibilities of a Security Officer, ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, assets, and property while maintaining compliance with gaming regulations, company policies, and applicable legislation.

The Shift Lead Security acts as the primary point of contact for security-related incidents during their shift, providing guidance and direction to security team members while responding to emergencies, disturbances, and customer service situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties as a   Security S upervisor:

- The manager is   accountable   to his or her   staff,   assisting   with hiring, training, evaluations,   recognition   and development.
- Responsible for the protection of company assets and the reporting and arrest of criminals, ensuring the maintenance of peace and order for guests and fellow employees.
- Provides first aid and medical attention as   required .
- Presents a   strong presence on the gaming floor .
- Delivers   exceptiona l customer service and ensures   compliance with Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulations and other applicable laws,   policies   and regulations.
- Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and   retaining   guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members   in order to   provide superior guest service.

Duties as a Security Officer:

- Exhibit   conduct   in   accordance   with   all   Alcohol   Gaming   Commission   Ontario   (AGCO)   Regulations.
- Ensures   that   proper   security   is   provided   for   all   transfers   of   monies   within   the   casino.
- Assist   patrons with a wide variety of inquiries and situations including providing information about the property and events,   giving   directions   and   possibly   escorting   them if   necessary.
- Prepare   detailed   incident   reports   in   a   clear   and   precise   manner.
- Patrol   the   casino   areas   to   establish   a   security   presence   and   report   all   unusual   situations   and/or   suspicious   persons.
- Assist   in   the   coordination   and   resolution   of   emergency   situations .
- Assist   in   maintaining   proper   key   control.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying   appropriate   managers   of   concerns and observations.
- Demonstrate   actions   and   behaviors   that   reinforce   the   Company’s   Mission   and   Values   of   Communication,   Integrity,   Fun,   Respect,   Accountability,   Passion   and   Dedication.
- Ensure   prompt   and   discreet   notification   to   managers   of   any   observation   of   illegal   acts   or   internal   ethics   violations.
- Performs   all   other   related   and   compatible   duties   as   assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION AND/OR EXPIERENCE REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum of a post-secondary diploma in Law and Security or a related field
- Proficiency   in standard computer applications and systems relevant to security operations
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification, along with Non-Violent Intervention certification
- Possession of a valid Class G driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred
- Ability to obtain and   maintain   registration as a Category   1   Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO)
- The ability to obtain a Smart   Serve    License
- A secondary school diploma, with preference   to   graduates with a post-secondary education in Law and Security.
- A minimum of one (1) or more years of experience in a Security related field or gaming related positions (Cage, Slot, Table Games or Audit).
- Knowledge of computer applications.
- Casino Surveillance or related surveillance experience   an   asset
- Must obtain and   maintain   all licenses / certifications per Federal,   Provincial ,   and Gaming   Commission.
- Prior experience opening new properties/outlets preferred.
- Must be   Nineteen   ( 19 ) years of age.
- Must be able to   work on   holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to frequently move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds or more.
- Specific vision abilities that may be required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The work environmental characteristics described here may be representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy.
- Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a professional office setting, but there may be times when you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, excessive noise.
