Job Description This role involves developing operating procedures and performing tests for various water and wastewater treatment operations. The technician will conduct tests such as jar tests for chemical dosing optimization, silt density index evaluations, and pilot scale evaluations. Tasks include operating small-scale equipment, preparing samples and reagents, performing laboratory tests, and managing data. Responsibilities

- Develop and implement operating procedures for water and wastewater treatment operations.
- Perform jar tests to determine and optimize chemical dosing for treatment approaches.
- Conduct silt density index and pilot scale evaluations.
- Perform column and batch testing for ion exchange resins, carbon adsorption, and activated alumina.
- Operate and maintain small-scale equipment such as pumps, heaters, and mixers.
- Prepare samples for testing and prepare reagents for in-house lab analyses.
- Conduct various laboratory tests, including pH, dissolved oxygen, color, temperature, oxidation reduction potential, and total hardness.
- Pull samples for third-party laboratory analysis.
- Maintain reagents and laboratory inventory.
- Ensure calibration records for lab equipment are up to date.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) documentation for lab chemicals and reagents.
- Manage and communicate data effectively.
- Maintain cleanliness of lab equipment and operating areas.

Essential Skills

- Proficiency in quality control, laboratory procedures, biology, and quality assurance.
- Mechanical aptitude and technical background.
- Experience in bench-top wet inorganic chemistry analytical procedures.
- Ability to follow detailed lab procedures and safety sheets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to work precisely in solution making, data handling, and instrument operation.
- Proficiency with standard laboratory instruments such as pH and conductivity meters, TSS, HACH spectrophotometer, analytical balances, and volumetric glassware.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Detail-oriented and non-colorblind.
- Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn and grow in responsibility.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and handle precise chemical data.

Work Environment The role is based onsite at the Shady Hills Power Point construction site. The technician will operate in a laboratory setting, utilizing various equipment and instruments. The work environment emphasizes safety, precision, and cleanliness. Shift is open and candidate must be flexible to work days and nights if needed.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Spring Hill, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
