About this role
Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager, the Radiology Receptionist is
responsible for creating and canceling patient appointments, the upkeep of patient information, and other
clerical duties.
Regular Scheduled hours
Monday - Friday
8:00am to 4:30pm
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets patients arriving for tests in various imaging sections.
- Operates equipment pertaining to role (phone, copy machine, computer system,
etc)
- Answers calls to the Radiology Department in a professional and courteous
manner and assists patients with their inquiries or directs them to the appropriate
people.
- Receives requests for appointments via phone or fax. Coordinates appointments
with all respective areas that may be necessary.
- Handles all transactions with patient information discreetly and follows guidelines
regarding confidentiality of patient information.
- Schedules appointments for patients and keeps appointments organized and
updated. Cancels appointments as necessary.
- Complies with protocols for scheduling all requested exams
- Completes check-in process and notifies respective departments of patient
arrivals.
- Initiates and processes orders to prepare tests. Ensures correct orders are
placed for appropriate tests being done. Ensures all demographic information is
correct.
- Maintains insurance information for patients.
- Responds to requests for assistance in a timely manner.
- Manages concerns and complaints in a calm manner.
- Receives and logs disk sent for comparisons. Fills out requests and has a patient
sign for all disks given out
- Completes all record retrieval requests
- Recognizes when others are in need of assistance and consistently offers to help
when own workload permits.
- Performs other job-related duties as requested.
ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Adheres to dress code – appearance is neat and clean
- Demonstrates dependability by reporting to work on time and as scheduled.
Wears identification while on duty.
- Completes annual education requirements, including all local, state, federal, and
accredited body regulations.
- Maintains regulatory requirements, including all local, state, federal, and
accredited body regulations.
- Maintains confidentiality at all times.
- Works at maintaining good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with
all pavilion and hospital staff.
- Represents the facility in a positive and professional manner
- Ensures compliance with policies and procedures including but not limited to
department operations, fire, safety, and infection control.
- Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Qualification Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred but not required.
Experience:
Previous experience in Radiology is preferred but not required.
Previous customer service experience is preferred but not required.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Additional languages preferred
