Medical Supervisor

San Diego Humane Society is hiring a Medical Supervisor for our Escondido Shelter Medicine team!

What youll do:

- Directly supervise Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) and Vet Assistants staff members including making recommendations for hiring and firing. Conduct disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, orientation, training, instruction, and coaching for staff and program volunteers.

- Prepare and maintain staff work and task schedules, including review of timecards.

- Coordinate the movement of animals through the medical process with Campus Leadership, Veterinary Manager and the Hospital Director to ensure animals are moved through efficiently to the next step in the process. Attend and assist with shelter rounds as needed. Maintain medical animal inventory using Shelter Buddy software.

- May assist with or perform euthanasia under veterinary supervision when required. If licensed as an RVT, will be responsible for performing RVT duties as assigned.

What were looking for:

- Requires high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of three (3) years of clinical and/or shelter experience in a veterinary atmosphere. One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.

- California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license highly preferred.

Location & Hours: Based at our Escondido Campus. This position works a 4/10 Alternative Work Schedule.

Pay: Starting range is between $33.83 - $39.46 per hour.

The listed hiring range for this position depicts the target range of pay rates for candidates. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. Compensation for internal candidates may increase beyond the listed range based on performance over time. For all candidates, the actual starting pay rate is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to your years of related education and experience, internal pay equity, and position location.
