GWCCA FACILITY OPERATIONS OVERVIEW

The Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) Campus Operations function is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and exceptional facility operations that support world class events and guest experiences. Through strong operational oversight, vendor partnerships, and team leadership, Campus Operations ensures the Authoritys facilities operate at the highest standards of quality, safety practices, incident response, and preventive maintenance.

GWCCA HOUSEKEEPING LEAD POSITION SUMMARY

The Authority is currently hiring a Housekeeping Lead to join our team. The Housekeeping Lead is primarily responsible for coordinating housekeeping activities, monitoring cleanliness and service standards, supporting event readiness, and communicating operational needs to leadership.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, initiative, reliability, sound judgment, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. This position requires the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, event driven environment and to respond quickly to changing operational needs.

GWCCA HOUSEKEEPING LEAD WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Fast paced, professional work environment in a dynamic convention, sports, entertainment, and hospitality venue.

- Event based business which may require irregular work hours, flexible scheduling, and availability to support evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events based on operational needs.

- Work performed in varying event facilities and conditions across the Authority's campus (indoors and outdoors).

- May be expected to perform or respond effectively to changing priorities, time sensitive operational issues, and emergency situations while maintaining composure under pressure.

- Requires frequent interaction with large crowds in a public venue and event settings while maintaining professionalism, composure, and exceptional customer service.

GWCCA HOUSEKEEPING LEAD PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is moderately exposed to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The ability to lift 50 pounds or more may be required of this position. Daily shifts will endure various degrees of walking, standing, turning, crouching, kneeling, reaching, pushing and pulling, requiring a full range of body movements. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events. GWCCA HOUSEKEEPING LEAD ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

- Coordinate daily housekeeping activities and assignments under the direction of the Facility Operations Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.

- Serve as a day to day resource for vendor personnel by providing operational direction, answering questions, and communicating priorities.

- Monitor assigned areas and event spaces throughout move in, event operation, turnover, and move out to ensure cleanliness, appearance, sanitation, and readiness consistently meet established GWCCA standards and event requirements.

- Conduct routine inspections of restrooms, public spaces, meeting rooms, exhibit halls, lobbies, concourses, service corridors, loading docks, and other assigned areas.

- Conduct pre-event, during event, and post event walkthroughs to identify housekeeping needs and ensure spaces are maintained according to event requirements.

- Communicate cleaning, replenishment, maintenance, safety, and service needs to the appropriate supervisor or manager.

- Assist with monitoring housekeeping coverage and task assignments based on event schedules, operational priorities, and changing facility conditions.

- Monitor work being performed by third party service providers and promptly communicate quality or staffing concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

- Support consistent application of housekeeping procedures, safety practices, sanitation standards, and facility protocols.

- Assist with maintaining housekeeping supply rooms and designated storage areas in an organized and operational condition.

- Monitor supply levels and communicate replenishment needs to the appropriate supervisor.

- Assist with receiving, organizing, stocking, and distributing housekeeping supplies as directed.

- Help ensure equipment and cleaning supplies are used appropriately and safely.

- Document completed work, inspections, supply needs, incidents, and operational concerns as required.

- Escalate customer concerns, safety hazards, facility issues, staffing concerns, and service deficiencies to the appropriate supervisor or manager.

- Support waste management activities by identifying waste removal needs and communicating them to the appropriate supervisor or service provider.

- Support pest control and other contracted facility services by reporting conditions requiring attention.

- Communicate professionally with internal and external customers and respond to housekeeping related requests in a timely manner.

- Provide operational updates to the Facility Operations Supervisor or Manager at the beginning, during, and/or end of assigned shifts.

- Complete required daily activity, inspection, and shift reports accurately and timely.

- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, safety meetings, and event briefings as required.

- Maintain a professional image that represents the values and vision of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority.

- Perform housekeeping duties, when necessary, to support operational needs and maintain facility standards.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

GWCCA HOUSEKEEPING LEAD EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferred.

- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in housekeeping, custodial services, hospitality, facilities operations, or a closely related field preferred.

- Previous experience serving as a lead role preferred.

- Experience working in a convention center, hotel, stadium, arena, entertainment venue, or other high volume facility preferred.

- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.

- Valid driver's license preferred.

- Multilingual skills are a plus.
