About this role
Primary Responsibilities and Key Deliverables
- Operate pumps, valves, centrifuges, filtration systems, separators, tanks, and other process equipment used in environmental and industrial cleaning operations.
- Monitor and control treatment processes to ensure proper handling and disposal of waste materials.
- Transfer, load, unload, and process liquid, solid, and hazardous/non-hazardous waste streams.
- Collect samples and perform basic testing to verify compliance with operational requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment, tanks, pipelines, and processing systems.
- Record operational data, inventory levels, process readings, and maintenance activities.
- Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Assist with equipment setup, decontamination, and cleaning operations.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions, process abnormalities, and safety concerns.
- Follow all company policies, environmental regulations, and customer requirements.
- Participate in emergency response activities when required.
- Support facility maintenance and perform minor repairs as needed.
- Attend safety meetings, training sessions, and required certifications.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Ability to work in an industrial environment and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Experience in industrial cleaning, waste treatment, wastewater operations, chemical processing, refinery, petrochemical, or related industries.
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, centrifuges, filtration systems, and process equipment.
- HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain.
- Forklift and equipment operation experience.
- TWIC card or ability to obtain.
Work Environment
- Tools, equipment, machinery used: Hydroblasting, Vacuum Truck, and Tank cleaning equipment.
- Working conditions: Will be exposed to all weather conditions. Work on various structures and surfaces both at ground and elevated levels up to and possibly exceeding 150 ft. Work in confined spaces. Work a 12-hour shift with 30-minute lunch breaks. If requested, work overtime, and respond to emergency callouts whenever they occur. Work days, nights, and weekends. Travel to customer and other Miller sites as needed.
- Physical effort required: Handling tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 150 lbs. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, crawl, bend, squat, and kneel. Must be capable of climbing towers/vessels/tanks.
