The Role:

The Entegris site in Bedford, MA is   seeking   a detail-oriented and hands-on Process Engineering Technician to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. This role supports factory sustaining by reviewing questionable materials and using defect libraries to   disposition   them, troubleshooting process problems and Statistical Process Control (SPC) e vents   using response flow checklists, and   maintaining   these documents with new findings from investigations. The technician works side by side with the engineering team on the factory floor, executing engineering runs on manufacturing equipment and collecting sample measurement data to support projects and continuous improvement.

What   You’ll   Do :

Material Review & Disposition  :

- Review questionable and non-conforming materials on the factory floor and disposition them using established defect libraries and standard criteria.

- Compare observed defects against reference images and defect classifications to make accurate, consistent disposition decisions.

- Escalate ambiguous, new, or out-of-family defects to the responsible engineer for further evaluation and containment.

Process Troubleshooting & SPC Support  :

- Use response flow checklists to troubleshoot process problems arising from defects and from SPC Out of Control (OOC) and Out of Specification (OOS/OOC) events.

- Follow structured response flows to  contain  issues,  identify  probable causes, and implement or recommend corrective actions  in a timely manner .

- Support root cause investigations of manufacturing excursions by gathering data, running checks, and documenting observations.

Documentation Maintenance  :

- Maintain defect libraries, response flow checklists, and related process documents by updating them with new findings and learnings from investigations.

- Identify  gaps in existing documentation and work with engineers to create, update, and release  accurate  work instructions and response flows.

- Ensure  all documents and certifications associated with manufacturing processes are current and controlled.

Engineering & Project Support  :

- Support the engineering team on projects by performing engineering runs on manufacturing equipment per engineer direction.

- Measure and collect sample data, record results accurately, and summarize findings for engineering review.

- Work alongside manufacturing engineers on the factory floor to set up trials,  monitor  runs, and  assist  with hands-on execution.

- Proactively identify safety and quality concerns and take or recommend corrective actions.

What We Seek :

- Associate degree in  an engineering  or technical discipline,   or equivalent manufacturing/technical work experience.   High School diploma or GED is required.

- Experience in a manufacturing, cleanroom, or production environment; semiconductor industry preferred.

- Familiarity with SPC concepts, including Out of Control (OOC) and Out of Specification (OOS) conditions.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to visually inspect, measure, and disposition materials consistently.

- Comfortable using measurement tools and following work instructions, response flows, and standard operating procedures.

- Good documentation and technical writing skills, with the ability to update procedures and record findings clearly.

- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to work hands-on alongside engineers on the factory floor.

- Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly and to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

- “Safety First” attitude, practiced with integrity and a high degree of accountability.

Outstanding   Candidates   Will   Have :

- 2+ years of experience in a semiconductor or precision- materials  manufacturing environment.

- Hands-on experience with defect review, material disposition, or quality inspection.

- Working knowledge of SPC charts, control limits, and structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 5 Whys, fishbone).

- Experience executing engineering runs, DOEs, or metrology/sample measurements.

- Enthusiastic learner with a continuous-improvement mindset.

- Salary range for this position is $27-$34 per hour depending on experience.
