Job Summary
The Financial Advisor supports hospital leadership and CFO by preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial data that drives operational and strategic decision-making. This role builds and maintains monthly financial reporting packages, partners with department directors on variance analysis, and supports the annual operating and capital budget process. The analyst also develops volume and revenue forecasts, models the financial impact of new service lines and payer contracts, and monitors net revenue trends and payer mix shifts in coordination with revenue cycle and managed care teams.
Essential Functions of the Role
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis of actual results vs. budget and prior year
- Partner with department directors to explain performance drivers and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Support labor management and productivity reviews
- Assist with annual operating and capital budget development
- Build volume, revenue, and financial impact forecasts for new service lines, physician arrangements, and payer contracts
- Analyze net revenue trends and payer mix shifts alongside revenue cycle and managed care teams
- Prepare cost accounting and service-line profitability analyses
- Support month-end close activities (accruals, reconciliations)
- Contribute to regulatory and system-level financial reporting

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field
- 1–3 years of analytical experience preferred
- Healthcare or hospital experience strongly preferred
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems/data tools
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear recommendations for clinical and operational leaders
