Reporting to the EVP, Head of Capital Markets, this position will lead engagements with investors, servicing clients and origination partners to source, price, process and onboard loan purchases. This role is responsible for developing and driving initiatives to grow the business through loan purchases, optimizing pricing to increase margin contribution and improving efficiencies through continuous process improvements. The position will develop both internal and external relationships with the goal of establishing profitable engagements with loan purchase clients.
The position will manage a team of professionals responsible for the Correspondent Conduit product, pricing, funding, liquidity and related operational activities, while partnering closely with Business Development, Sales, Finance, Investor Services and other members of the Fay Investment and Servicing Leadership Team to implement loan purchase strategies that support the firm's financial objectives.
This role requires extensive experience in strategy development, sales leadership and execution of loan purchases, trading and warehouse funding within the residential mortgage industry, as well as deep industry knowledge and a strong understanding of the U.S. mortgage market. Success in this role requires the ability to cultivate strategic relationships, balance thoughtful planning with real-time execution, demonstrate strong financial and operational acumen and utilize a consultative approach to delivering a positive customer and client experience.
Qualifications Include:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field (or equivalent combination of education and years of work experience)
- 10+ years of progressive experience in the purchase and disposition of residential mortgage assets or consumer loans and correspondent conduit operations
- 5+ years experience managing people and leading teams
- Demonstrated success managing and growing relationships with loan originators, investors and servicing leaders
- Extensive experience working with sellers and third parties to identify and acquire loan pools for review and purchase
- Broad strategic perspective with a strong understanding of deal economics and investment objectives
- Demonstrated experience in deal structuring and documentation
- Proven ability to successfully lead asset negotiations at scale
- Knowledge and application of industry best practices and regulatory requirements to lead the analysis and due diligence of loan purchases
- Understanding of various PPE and LOS systems (e.g., Optimal Blue, Polly and Encompass)
- Strong skills and experience in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across the organization to influence and drive required results

Compensation
- The hiring range for this position is between $150,000.00-$200,000.00 annually
- This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus
