About this role

Join our lab team this semester to assist with electronics testing for the CMS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). This is a hands-on role that is part of building a major international physics experiment.

No prior experience is required. We will provide all necessary laboratory and safety training. The workload is highly flexible; tasks can easily be completed in short blocks between your regular classes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Unpacking incoming boxes and packing finalized printed circuit boards (PCBs) for shipment.

• Sorting and organizing PCBs, and scanning barcodes on PCBs and computer chips.

• Operating specialized equipment, including a laser engraver.

• Depaneling, connecting, and disconnecting PCBs.

• Using custom software to perform automated tests of each PCB.

• Utilizing mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (gloves, safety glasses, N95 masks, and anti-static bracelets).

Requirements:

• Must be a currently enrolled Baylor undergraduate student.
