SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Analyst compiles data from various operating systems to create financial reports, charts and statistics for tracking and analyzing the performance of the property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and analyze daily operating reports and alerts CFO, GM and Department Heads of significant deviations to budget.
Prepare Department Budgets.
Prepare and review monthly income and expense trends vs. budget and report Department Heads explanations of significant deviations.
Chart monthly and yearly Revenue by department to aid in trends analysis.
Chart monthly and yearly Expense for top 10 expenses (in total dollars) to aid in trends analysis.
Prepare and analyze monthly variance reports for all gaming areas that are required of the State Compact and NIGC MIC Standards.
Review and signoff on all Capital Expense requests and GL account charges.
Track all Capital Expense projects to their allotted budgets.
Prepare 3 month capital expenditures cash flow forecast.
Prepare 24 month top 10 Capital Expenditure Projects Forecast by quarter.
Reconcile cash clearing accounts monthly, report findings to appropriate individuals and prepare adjusting journal entry.
Reconcile Point Liability monthly and prepare journal entry.
Reconcile Cage Accountability each month, prepare adjusting journal entry and notify revenue Audit Manager of input errors.
Review all monthly inventory counts and prepare journal entry for Cost of Goods and Inventory.
Prepare monthly Income and Expense Summary Report for Tribal Council.
At the direction of the GM or CFO, prepare reports that show effectiveness of selected entertainment and promotions.
Lead or assist on special projects required by the CFO or GM that will not cause an internal control conflict with any duties listed above.
Assist CFO in developing and implementing accounting technology upgrades and training.
All other duties as assigned (non-gaming functions and issued gaming license permitting).
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelors Degree/Associates preferred in Finance/Accounting/Economics or equivalent. Casino experience required. At least five (5) years progressive experience in Finance Department, specifically Financial Analysis and Labor Analysis.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift up to Twenty-Five pounds.
