About this role

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Pharmacy Tech, you will play a crucial role in hospital pharmacy operations, ensuring the accurate and timely distribution of essential medications.Every day you will be vital in supporting a pharmacist-supervised department across various technical, clerical, and transportation duties.To be successful in this role, you will have a demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, calculations, and legal restrictions.

- Prepares IV admixtures accurately using aseptic technique and properly labels, logs and initials final product.

- Fills unit dose orders timely and accurately, including extemporaneous compounding.

- Omnicell/floor stock medications are filled accurately and in a timely manner.

- Follows department narcotic sign-out and restocking procedure including investigation and documentation of discrepancies.

- Fills unit dose cassettes accurately and within allotted time standard set by department.

- Completes all job tasks for assigned shift on a daily basis.

Job Requirements

Required

- One year of acute care hospital pharmacy practice experience OR

- a 6 week pharmacy technician externship at the hiring facility and Experience in the preparation of intravenous admixtures and antineoplastic/chemotherapeutic/ hazardous medications

- Pharmacy Technician: CA (Pharm Tech CA)

- Completion of an ASHP accredited Pharmacy Technician program

Preferred

- Experience working in a USP 797 cleanroom
