WHO WE NEED

The Traffic Control Officer Supervisor oversees the operations and activities of a team of traffic control officers. This role ensures effective traffic management, compliance with traffic regulations, and the safety of both officers and the public. The Supervisor provides leadership, training, and performance evaluation while coordinating with other departments or agencies as needed.

- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of traffic control officers.

- Schedule and assign shifts, ensuring adequate coverage for traffic management needs.

- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

- Address personnel issues and conflicts in accordance with organizational policies.

- Develop and implement traffic control plans for various situations, including construction zones, special events, and emergency scenarios.

- Monitor traffic flow and identify areas requiring intervention to ensure smooth operations.

- Oversee the setup and removal of traffic control devices, such as signs, cones, and barriers.

- Provide training to new and existing traffic control officers on safety procedures, equipment use, and traffic regulations.

- Ensure team adherence to local, state, and federal traffic laws and regulations.

- Conduct safety audits and enforce compliance with workplace safety standards.

- Collaborate with law enforcement, public works, and other agencies to facilitate effective traffic management.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for addressing public inquiries and complaints related to traffic control.

- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on traffic incidents, team activities, and resource utilization.

- Respond to traffic-related emergencies, accidents, or disruptions, ensuring swift and effective action.

- Coordinate with emergency services to restore normal traffic flow and ensure public safety.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred).

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in traffic control or a related field, with 3 years in a supervisory role.

- In-depth knowledge of traffic laws, control devices, and safety procedures.

- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

- Proficiency in using traffic management tools and software.

- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in emergency situations.

- Valid drivers license and any required certifications in traffic management or safety.
