The Construction Project Manager leads end-to-end delivery of restaurant construction, remodels, and capital improvement projects, serving as the primary on-site representative and field leader. This owner-side role focuses on safe, efficient, and high-quality execution while ensuring all work aligns with established standards, drawings, and specifications. It is well-suited for an experienced Superintendent or Field Construction Manager seeking to move into an owner-side position, gain broader project exposure, and build a long-term career while remaining closely connected to the field.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day job-site execution for restaurant construction, remodels, and capital improvement projects, ensuring work progresses safely, efficiently, and according to plan.
- Serve as the primary on-site representative, acting as the main point of contact for field activities and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee construction activities in alignment with company standards, project specifications, and engineering documents, maintaining a strong focus on quality and compliance.
- Review, interpret, and work from blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications to guide field execution and resolve issues in real time.
- Ensure that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) components for intricate kitchen and restaurant projects are installed and coordinated correctly.
- Manage multiple projects within the restaurant and facilities portfolio, including new construction and remodels, across a range of project sizes.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
- Collaborate closely with general contractors, trade partners, and facilities teams to ensure coordinated, safe, and efficient work on site.
- Provide hands-on leadership in the field, maintaining a visible presence at job sites as needed to support execution and problem-solving.
- Uphold and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring that all work is performed in a safe manner and in compliance with applicable safety standards.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager within commercial construction, either with a general contractor or as an owner’s representative.
- Demonstrated experience working with drawings and blueprints at a high level, including complex commercial projects.
- Experience in restaurant construction or facilities maintenance, with a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for intricate kitchen and restaurant projects.
- Proven ability to read blueprints and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documents accurately.
- Hands-on field leadership experience as a Superintendent, Field Construction Manager, or similar role within commercial construction.
- Strong ability to manage multiple construction or capital improvement projects concurrently in a commercial environment.
- Ability to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of construction activities in alignment with company standards.

- Experience delivering restaurant projects and capital improvements in the $20 million to $100 million range.

This is a Permanent position based out of Gainesville, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $180000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
