Instrumentation Engineer (Process & Manufacturing Projects)

Join a team delivering innovative process and manufacturing projects. We're looking for an experienced Instrumentation Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, leading projects, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams from concept through startup.

What You'll Do

- Design and support instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems for industrial projects.
- Develop P&IDs, control narratives, instrument specifications, and installation packages.
- Specify and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, SIS, and automation systems.
- Lead instrumentation engineering activities on small to mid-sized projects.
- Review vendor drawings, support construction, commissioning, and startup activities.
- Collaborate with process, mechanical, piping, and electrical teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.

What We're Looking For

- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Controls, Computer, or related Engineering discipline.
- 10+ years of industrial instrumentation and controls engineering experience.
- Strong experience with PLCs, DCS, SIS, and process automation systems.
- Experience developing instrument specifications, control strategies, and P&IDs.
- Knowledge of NEC, ISA standards, and industrial instrumentation best practices.
- Ability to support projects from design through construction and commissioning.
- PE license preferred but not required.

Preferred Experience

- Process manufacturing, chemical, refinery, power, food & beverage, or similar industrial facilities.
- Control valve sizing, instrumentation selection, and control system integration.
- Leading discipline work and coordinating with internal and external project teams.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $90.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
