Position Overview
- Job Title: Breakfast Attendant
- Location: 4595 Columbus Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23462
- Reports To: General Manager / Assistant General Manager
- Schedule: Early mornings, typically 5:00am – 12:00pm (noon), must include weekends and holidays.
- Work Environment: Modern hotel in the heart of Virginia Beach's Town Center business and entertainment district
Summary
The Breakfast Attendant delivers the warm, complimentary Hampton breakfast experience our guests count on to start their day. You set up and maintain the hot breakfast buffet, prepare and replenish food items, keep the dining area clean and welcoming, and serve as a friendly morning ambassador for the hotel.
Job Functions:
- Completes opening duties: checks the quality and quantity of all breakfast stock and supplies against the daily checklist.
- Sets up, maintains, and breaks down the hot breakfast buffet to Hampton brand standards.
- Prepares and cooks hot breakfast items using standard recipes and equipment (eggs, waffle batter, breakfast meats, and other precooked hot items).
- Monitors food quality, freshness, and presentation throughout service; replenishes buffet items as needed.
- Maintains coffee, juice, and milk machines and dispensers; keeps beverages stocked and fresh.
- Greets and engages guests warmly, answers questions, and assists with special or dietary requests.
- Follows all food safety and sanitation standards; cleans and sanitizes service lines, dispensers, tables, counters, and equipment.
- Rotates stock using First In, First Out (FIFO) and stores food properly per health and safety standards.
- Takes daily inventory of food, beverages, and supplies and reports order needs to management.
- Cleans the breakfast dining area and kitchen/galley, and manages waste disposal during and after service.
- Reports for scheduled shifts, on time and in uniform, in accordance with company policy.
- Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Previous food service, breakfast, or hospitality experience preferred; no experience required — we'll train.
- Knowledge of basic food handling and safety procedures; food handler certification a plus.
- Able to communicate in English, verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional guest service.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift, with or without reasonable accommodation.
