Job Title: Emergency Room Technician Job Description
The Emergency Room Technician will be responsible for preparing necessary information, equipment, and supplies for patient exams. You will process requests for prescription refills according to established practice and collect and send specimens to appropriate labs for testing per protocol.
Responsibilities
- Prepare necessary information, equipment, and supplies for patient exams.
- Process requests for prescription refills according to established practice.
- Collect and send specimens to appropriate labs for testing per protocol.
- Report and refer patient's concerns, symptoms, reactions, and changes to licensed clinic personnel promptly and accurately.
- Schedule, edit, and maintain patient physician appointments for new and returning patients using the scheduling system.
- Schedule radiology appointments.
- Maintain clean and orderly exam rooms, hallways, and work areas.
- Inform patients about authorization and collect payment for new and returning patients using the scheduling system.
- Collect patient demographic and insurance data, enter it into systems, and assign medical record numbers.
- Ensure appropriate verifications and authorizations are complete before the patient sees the provider.
- Assist with messaging from the patient to the physician in a timely manner.
Essential Skills
- Medical and emergency response skills.
- EMT License.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Experience working on an ambulance.
- Proficiency in Epic software.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certifications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- EMT Certification.
- BLS Certification.
- Experience in an emergent environment.
Work Environment
The position is based in a 75-bed, fast-paced Emergency Department. This environment is part of a Level 1 trauma center and teaching hospital, offering an excellent opportunity to gain valuable patient care experience for a long-term career in medicine.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Stanford, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
