About the role

- We are seeking a Functional Safety (FuSa) Engineer to drive safety across our silicon, hardware, and software for perception systems deployed in safety-critical robotics and automation. You will own safety work products from concept through certification.

What you'll do

- Lead functional safety activities per ISO 26262 (and related standards) across the product lifecycle
- Develop safety concepts, HARA, FMEA/FMEDA, FTA, and safety cases
- Define safety requirements and allocate them across silicon, hardware, and software
- Collaborate with design teams to implement safety mechanisms and achieve diagnostic coverage
- Support safety validation, verification, and audits
- Maintain safety work products and documentation for certification
- Interface with assessors and customers on safety compliance

Required Qualifications

- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years in functional safety for automotive, industrial, or robotics systems
- Working knowledge of ISO 26262 and/or IEC 61508
- Experience with safety analyses (HARA, FMEA, FMEDA, FTA)
- Ability to derive and manage safety requirements across hardware and software
- Strong systems thinking and cross-functional collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

- ASIL-D hardware or software development experience
- Semiconductor/SoC safety (safety island, diagnostics, lockstep) experience
- SOTIF (ISO 21448) and/or cybersecurity (ISO 21434) awareness
- Certified Functional Safety Engineer (or equivalent)
- Robotics, LiDAR, or autonomous systems background
