About this role

Job Purpose

The Assessment Governance Analyst provides analytical, operational and administrative support to the Assessment Governance Manager in delivering assessment governance activities across RCSI Bahrain. The role supports assessment data analysis, reporting, quality assurance, examination governance processes and continuous improvement while operating under the direction of the Assessment Governance Manager. The post holder does not hold independent governance, approval or decision-making authority.

Assessment Data & Analysis:

• Prepare, validate and maintain assessment and examination datasets for written, clinical and other assessment formats.
• Perform preliminary statistical and psychometric analyses, including item analysis, reliability measures and cohort performance summaries, for review by the Assessment Governance Manager.
• Prepare analytical summaries of OSCE and clinical examination data, highlighting trends, anomalies and potential issues.
• Verify the completeness, accuracy and consistency of assessment data prior to reporting.

Reporting

• Compile examination board papers, progression reports, award reports and supporting documentation for review and approval by the Assessment Governance Manager.
• Prepare draft reports for accreditation, regulatory and quality assurance purposes.
• Develop and maintain operational dashboards and routine management reports.
• Produce regular analytical reports to support assessment review and continuous improvement activities.

Governance Support

• Maintain assessment records, governance documentation and audit trails in accordance with University requirements.
• Support compliance activities by ensuring assessment documentation is complete, accurate and appropriately filed.
• Assist in maintaining assessment governance templates, procedures and documentation.
• Support assessment system testing and validation activities before implementation.

Operational Support

• Monitor assessment operational timelines and submission schedules and promptly notify the Assessment Governance Manager of delays, missing information or data inconsistencies.
• Collate documentation received from academic and operational teams for governance review.
• Support the preparation of materials for Examination Boards, Progression Boards and other assessment-related meetings.
• Maintain version control of assessment documentation and reporting outputs.

Quality Assurance

• Perform quality checks on assessment data, reports and supporting documentation before submission for managerial review.
• Identify data anomalies, inconsistencies or operational risks and report them to the Assessment Governance Manager.
• Support internal audits and quality assurance reviews by preparing required documentation and evidence.

Stakeholder Support

• Liaise with Academic Operations, Registry, academic staff and other stakeholders regarding assessment information as directed by the Assessment Governance Manager.
• Maintain professional communication with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring confidentiality of assessment information.

• Handle assessment information in accordance with University policies relating to confidentiality, information security and data protection.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of examination materials, candidate data and assessment outcomes.

• The Assessment Governance Analyst operates under the direction and supervision of the Assessment Governance Manager.

Person Specification - Essential

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Person Specification - Desirable

• Experience within higher education, medical education or assessment administration.
• Knowledge of psychometric analysis and assessment methodologies.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL or equivalent reporting tools.
• Familiarity with assessment management or student information systems.
